One of the few magnetic knife racks on the market that will not scratch or chip the edge of your expensive blade, unlike the rail type magnetic racks where one has to be extra careful to make sure the blade edge doesn't impact the metal rails.
I have the Mk1 version of this rack and bought the Mk2 in the hope it would hold a larger chefs knife which the Mk1 struggles with. Happy to say it works superbly, holding the larger blade safely and securely.
I’ve observed a number of improvements in this design versus the original – larger contact area, less distance between magnet and skin, more suitable magnet design. Whilst the Mk1 magnets are much stronger, they have a small concentrated 'sweet spot'. These are much bigger meaning there's more magnetic area for the knives to stick to, helping to hold larger wider knives.
Unique functional design at a great price. Looks superb in our modern kitchen, always gets admiring comments from those who see it.
